DTI: Bulacan-made fireworks are safe and of high quality
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has assured the public that fireworks manufactured in Bulacan are safe and of high quality as at least 475 different types of fireworks being manufactured in the province have already secured the DTI Product Standards (PS) while another 75 are currently being scrutinized by the agency’s Bureau of Product Standards (BPS).
Zorina Aldana, director of DTI-Bulacan, said in an interview that those fireworks being applied for and secured PS licenses are following the provisions of Republic Act 7183 — an act regulating the sale, manufacture, distribution and use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.
Aldana also stressed the requirement on the fireworks packaging and labeling which includes the manufacturer’s name, contact details and the safety precautions which are meant to ensure the manufacturer’s accountability as well as assure the buyers of the safety of the fireworks being manufactured and sold.
